DHL E-commerce Solutions, a global logistics company under the Deutsche Post DHL Group, announced that it will invest over $300 million in the United States over the next five years. This investment will expand its footprint in the United States by adding 70% of its network area. In addition, the company will add automation and upgrade its IT operating system platform in all of its US distribution center facilities.
Due to the continuous growth of international e-commerce, DHL's e-commerce solution is also investing in a dedicated export gateway for international freight in Cartwright, New Jersey; Franklin Park in Illinois and Whittier in California.

The Whittier distribution center of DHL eCommerce Solutions opened at the end of 2020 and expanded in August 2021. Whittier's location has expanded by 100000 square feet, adjacent to its current location for handling international packages and parcels.
Location of Northeast Exit Gate
Carteret's international export portal will open in September 2021. The new 50000 square foot commercial building will include a TSA cargo inspection area. DHL eCommerce Solutions opened a fully automated distribution center in Avenuel, New Jersey in November 2018 and will continue to process domestic shipments from that location.
DHL eCommerce Solutions currently has 19 distribution centers and three company offices in the United States, with approximately 4200 employees. This department focuses on providing services to B2C online merchants, transporting lightweight packages and packages domestically and internationally.
